Welkom bij OpenBIM.info!

OpenBIM.info is about developing and sharing knowledge about 'open BIM', an integrated way of digital information sharing throughout the building process. Although BIM is referred to 'Building Information Modelling', we like to see BIM more as a information management platform or 'Building Information Management'.

Uitnodiging BeNeLux Industry Day (BSI)

What you adopt when adopting BIM

"BIM and Integrated Design: Strategies for Architectural Practice" by Randy Deutsch

Adopting BIM. Good or bad idea? Is there even a
choice? Should you wait until they work out all the
kinks and it becomes easier to learn and less cumbersome
to use? Should you hold out until it becomes
a more intuitive design tool?

The Business Value of BIM in Europe

Building Information Modeling (BIM)
is one of the most visible aspects
of a deep and fundamental change
that is rapidly transforming the
global construction industry.
For centuries we have used symbols
on paper (i.e., drawings and specifications)
as the primary means to represent
and communicate design intent for client
approval, bidding, procurement, fabrication,
construction and installation. These
abstractions have no native intelligence in
them and require human interpretation (i.e.,

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is an expansive knowledge domain within the Design, Construction and Operation (DCO) industry1

Uberviewer

You no longer need to build a cityGML model of your design, an export to IFC (common to most architectural designing applications) will do. Open your IFC-model within the UberViewer and set the correct geolocation. Now import a cityGML model of the environment and if needed correct the geolocation. The underlaying map is shown with your ifc model and the cityGML on top.

ifcwebserver

IFCWebServer is a free to use IFC model server written in Ruby.

It aims to smooth the process of getting information from the building models through it's simple query interface. It supports all IFC versions and has an open system structure to be extended by it's community users.
Main features

Dynamic parser : on-the-fly parsing of any Industry Foundation Classes(IFC) EXPRESS schema (2x2, 2x3, 2x4 are supported by default).

Solibri

Solibri Model Checker™ is out of the box software solution (Patent Pending) that analyzes Building Information Models for integrity, quality and physical safety. The system offers easy-to-use visualization with an intuitive walk-in functionality. With a single mouse click, the system X-rays the building model and reveals potential flaws and weaknesses in the design, highlights the clashing components and checks that the model complies with the building codes and organization’s best practices.

Synchro
